Fashion College Here I Come!

So recently I was accepted into FBI Fashion Business college in Sydney... I am so over the moon about getting accepted and it still feels like a dream even though I have had orientation already haha. In 2013 I finished my year 12 HSC (which in Australia means high school) and came out not knowing what I wanted to do. I've always had a passion for fashion (cheesy I know) but its true. I was 3rd in my class for textiles and design and my vogue collection is a bit intense. I decided to apply for University and got accepted for my Diploma of business. Still not knowing what to do with life I came to the conclusion I would have to defer for a year to find a career path.

The thought of Fashion College scared the shit out of me for one of 3 reasons:

 1. The Cost: So in Australia if you attend a University you have the option to pay for your education as a HEX fee (meaning once you get a full time job a % is taken out of your wage until is paid off), whereas all the Fashion colleges I was considering were an upfront fee. But my beautiful and brilliant brother told me he would loan me the money for college!

 2. Self Concious: the thought of attending school with girls who were size 6-8 and had perfect hair and perfect skin was something I was terrified of! I'm fairly curvy and my skin sometimes has a mind of its own, the fashion industry is sometimes misconceived as being only for the small petite type but I realised I have to gain more self confidence to start my career in fashion and when i walked in i was pleasantly surprised as to the array of people I saw and I could really see myself fitting it.

3.The commute: Living in Newcastle Australia and having to travel to Sydney for school was a bit scary as I wasn't ready to pack up and leave my life in Newcastle. But once I learnt more and more about FBI and how its only one day per week, it was almost like fate was trying to push us together! a 3 hour train ride there and home does not seem to bad once a week! plus following your dreams is hard work!

So here's me being weird outside the college on my orientation:

So after a long battle from my Pro's and Con's list I made a choice to submit my application to my dream college and let God decide whether I got in or not.... The next morning I received a phone call for an interview. When I was told that I was officially accepted into FBI fashion college my whole body was shaking. I called my mother and told all my friends and the reaction of everyone and support was amazing. It makes me feel like my life is finally starting and it just shows that no matter what obstacles or doubts you have about following your dreams, if you truly want something to happen, just work for it and you will achieve whatever your destined to!

I'm so excited to start next week and will update you guys with my makeup and outfit of choice for the day!! xx
